The firm has a long tradition of community service. Thomas J. Hickey has been active in Bar Association activities including chairing the Insurance Committee of that organization. He has also served on numerous committees of the Broome County Bar Association, most recently on the Broome County Bar Association’s Judicial Candidate Committee. In addition to an original member of the firm now serving on the federal bench, Gregory A. Gates is a Justice for the Town of Dickinson and a former Director of the Broome County Bar Association. Dennis P. Sheehan has served as the President of the Broome County Bar Association and as a Director of that Association. He is also the former Chair of the Broome County Bar Association’s Ethics Committee and of its’ Bar Office Management Committee, and member of the Executive Council of the New York State Conference of Bar Leaders.

Each of the members of the firm also serves in leadership roles for numerous community activities. Tom Hickey has coached many youth basketball teams and was instrumental in starting the Broome County CYO Girls Basketball league. Dennis P. Sheehan has coached a variety of youth sports and has also held leadership positions with Catholic Charities of Broome County, the Roman Catholic Diocese of Syracuse and the Broome County Catholic Youth organization. Gregory A. Gates has served as the Treasurer of the Broome Sports Foundation and has also coached a number of youth hockey teams.
