The principal of the firm has extensive experience as both a prosecutor and criminal defense attorney. For over a decade, he investigated and prosecuted corruption in the New York City criminal justice system as a member and bureau chief in the Office of the Special Prosecutor. He also served as a Special Assistant District Attorney in Queens County, heading up a public integrity unit created as a result of the political corruption scandal in the mid 1980s, involving then Queens Borough President Donald Manes and others. Earlier in his career, he served as a trial attorney in the Criminal Division of the Legal Aid Society in New York City, specializing in representing youthful offenders, drug addicts and mentally disturbed defendants.

As Yonkers Corpration Counsel, he served as the chief legal officer of Yonkers, representing it in all civil legal proceedings. In 1990, he created this law firm, engaged primarily in all aspects of criminal defense, and in the representation of attorneys and other professionals in disciplinary matters.
